BeatGlove

BeatGlove is a wearable electronic music instrument that enables users to tap out percussive rhythms and hear them on a computer. Originally intended for electronic music hobbyists, its development and features found promise among music therapists and occupational hand therapists, eventually leading to the "Role-Play project.

The BeatGlove works by sensing finger taps with embedded touch-pressure sensors located at each fingertip. The BeatGlove runs on a Lilypad Arduino microprocessor platform, which communicates the sensor data to a Flash-based sound generator application on a computer. The application visualizes the amount of pressure sensed in each finger. The program can be customized with different pressure thresholds and sounds.
